Where Heroes Find Hope.

Liberty Place collaborates with the Veterans Court of Southern Indiana to help veterans enter back into society, independently but with access to and the support of mentors and program partners. Our secured residential facility includes sixteen private living spaces (including TV, bed and bedding, dresser, recliner, small refrigerator, closet and individual heating and air) with private bathrooms (furnished with shower, sink, toilet, towels, washcloths, soap and shampoo), plus a common area and recreation room, an exercise room, laundry area, outdoor space including a garden area and more. Meals and snacks are provided, and support staff are available 24/7.

A typical residency is 12 – 18 months. Liberty Place residents are asked to pay rent while in the transitional program. Many are unemployed or ineligible for VA benefits upon arrival, with no support or available living options. Our staff provides resources and assists as needed to help each veteran find funding and other support needed for residency at Liberty Place.

The goal is for every resident to:

  • Comply with the program requirements at Liberty Place
  • Gain or regain the life skills needed to be restored as a valuable, productive member of the community
  • Have access to support groups, counseling and treatment services to assist with safe and sober living
  • Eventually transition into the community.

Showing our appreciation.

Empowering veterans.

We help veterans start their new life outside of the military. We give them support for finding a job, learning new things, staying healthy, and managing money. Our goal is to show appreciation for their service and guide them towards a good future. Your donation will keep our good work going.

With support, transitioning from military to civilian life can be a success. Help is available to achieve greatness, stay determined for endless possibilities await.

Veterans Court of Southern Indiana

We work closely with the Veterans Court of Southern Indiana, a specialized court that monitors veterans in the court system who want treatment for alcohol or substance addiction or serious mental health issues. The Court’s mission is to successfully rehabilitate veterans involved in the court system using evidence-based treatment, so that they can lead productive, law-abiding civilian lives.

Participants in the Veterans Court of Southern Indiana must attend regular court appearances before the relevant judge. The program requires a total commitment to be clean, sober, healthy and law-abiding. The Veterans Court provides resources to participating veterans and their families to overcome stress, challenges and conflicts that may hinder the recovery process.

Veterans Court of Southern Indiana plays a vital role in the success of Liberty Place as it provides referrals for the program. All residents must adhere to the requirements of both Liberty Place and Veterans Court of Southern Indiana to remain a resident at Liberty Place.
